History

In 2006 Highmount Capital formalized their commitment to family sustainability through the creation of an Education Division to their core services. As Education Director, Abby Raphel was employed to implement and execute education programs for clients and friends of the firm. Between 2006 and 2010, Highmount served 30 inheritors of wealth in an individual coaching setting, 100 women of means and many more through the extension of their families. Education programs were piloted, vetted and implemented, thus poised to scale and serve more individuals and families. In 2009 Highmount agreed that it was in the best interest of their core business strategy and values to provide seed capital to The Redwoods Initiative as a non-profit organization, giving it fiscal and advisory support so it can scale into the destination for family wealth education.
